Seminar: How to transfer knowledge from transnational to local level through shared guidelines for local projects

Trollhättan (Sweden)

28 – 30 October 2025

From 28 to 30 October, project partners gathered in Trollhättan to explore how city planning and renovation can reflect the principles of the New European Bauhaus (NEB), focusing on sustainability, beauty, and inclusion.
The meeting provided a closer look at how Swedish cities, and Trollhättans Stad in particular, are integrating children and young people into urban development strategies. Through seminars and workshops led by Sara Stiber and Liza Olander Wihlney from Växtvärket, and Marit Jansson from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, participants discovered innovative methods to co-design public spaces with younger generations.
Local experts from Trollhättan also presented inspiring examples of collaboration between artists and children in the renovation of city playgrounds. Partners, in turn, shared their own local experiences guided by NEB principles, underlining the importance of inclusion in urban planning and development.
This third event marked the conclusion of the project’s first phase. To support the next steps, guidelines were developed through group work, identifying three key values that will shape the local implementation phase:
🌱 Harmony with nature
🏡 Sense of belonging
🎨 Richness of experiences
In the coming months, partners will work to transfer and adapt the knowledge gained at transnational level into local actions involving citizens and stakeholders in their communities.
