City of Zadar is Croatia’s oldest continually inhabited city, located in the centre of the East Adriatic and surrounded by beautiful nature of great variety. A city of exceptional history and rich cultural heritage acknowledged by UNESCO. Zadar today is a dynamic urban centre with around 70,000 inhabitants, while around 100,000 people from its islands, neighbouring municipalities and towns look up to Zadar as an inspiring centre.

City of Zadar is a local self-government unit with 200 employees and 13 administrative departments and offices. The mission of City of Zadar is a responsible and efficient management of public activities as well as transparent work of the city government in accordance with interests and needs of its citizens. Furthermore, City of Zadar focuses on ensuring conditions for continuous economic and social growth of the city by promoting good management, entrepreneurship, competitiveness and innovations.

City of Zadar is active participant in the field of transnational and cross-border cooperation with a long tradition of cooperation with numerous foreign local governments and international organizations. The City has a valuable experience in preparing and implementing more than hundred various projects supported by EU and national sources. Currently, City of Zadar participates in implementation of more than 25 projects supported by various European funds. The City is a partner in projects such as „EUROPE GOES LOCAL – Supporting Youth Work at the Municipal Level“ project, “InfoRoom” – building systematic support for civil society organizations and W.O.W. – Words Originate World: Minority Speeches and Languages in Multicultural Europe.
